Yes, cryo makes a great alturnative to Nitriding and Shot Peening.
Cryo goes all the way thru the part, not just on the surface.
Parts are stress relieved through to the center.
Fatigue and wear life are greatly enhanced.
You can machine the parts after cryo.
Cryo will not flake off.
Cryo is very cost effective.
