Knife Handle Material a Problem?

I have several old knives that have a variety of handle material, stag antler, G10 composite, micarta, and zytel.

Some of these handles are mounted with rivets and glued on. Will this cause problems with the treatment of the blade? Will treatment damage the handle material?
