One Cryo cryogenic tempering - shipping instructions for motorsports racing

Deep cryogenic tempering is a permanent, one-time stress relief process that creates a more dimensionally stable part, which surface is smoother, more uniform, reducing friction, heat, fatigue and breakage, resulting in longer lasting parts, increased horsepower, torque and increased trips to the winners circle.

One Cryo treats all parts in one week or less, normal turn-around time in 3 to 5 business days. Example, parts received by Friday 6 pm, we will ship no later than the following Wednesday.

ALL machining should be performed AFTER the deep cryogenic tempering process. This includes decking, boring, honing and polishing. All coatings and any other finishing process should be completed AFTER the cryo process. ALL parts and engines MUST be fully disassembled, (kart engines may be treated with head and side cover on) with ALL Stress (torqued bolts) removed or loosened (finger tight) BEFORE shipping to One Cryo. We do not do any disassembly work. ALL parts must be clean and lightly oiled prior to shipping. For tooling, cryo treat before re-sharpening.

Remove ALL plastic and/or rubber parts. Remove all plastic packaging material. All bearings should be removed and packaged separately. Protect ALL parts by wrapping each part in two layers of newspaper and secure each part by wrapping one piece of masking tape around the circumference of each part. Place ALL Aluminum parts in a box Marked "A" for Aluminum and ALL Steel parts in a box marked "S" for Steel. If parts are a combination of "A" and "S", mark box "S/A". For ALL other material such as Titanium, mark the outside of each box with description of contents.

Be sure to put your name on ALL parts as well as the description of the material by writing it on the masking tape or on the box. For additional protection during shipping, you may wish to further protect parts by wrapping them once more in Bubble wrap. You may ship smaller boxes by placing them in one larger, sturdier box for shipping purposes. Be sure to fill all empty space in each box with Styrofoam peanuts or newspaper and pack tightly. Each and every box should contain an itemized list of its contents as well as your name and address.

After cryo treating your parts, be sure to replace any and all gaskets and seals. Do not assume any measurements. Check all clearances and tolerances after cryo treating and before final assembly.
